Transportation Specialist - Naval Special Warfare Support

About the role

The Transportation Specialist is the primary coordinator for passenger movement, cargo transportation, deployment planning and mobility operations supporting Naval Special Warfare Group ONE Detachment Bahrain and deployed forces in the U.S. Central Command theater. The role manages strategic airlift, sealift and ground transportation through coordination with DoD transportation organizations and combatant command stakeholders, working independently with minimal oversight. It is contingent upon award.

Key responsibilities

• Enter and maintain data in multiple databases, compile and analyze it to identify trends and deficiencies, and research causes of transaction errors
• Arrange and schedule passenger and cargo movement for NSWG-1 Det Bahrain and deployed forces with USTRANSCOM, AMC, CENTCOM, SOCCENT, MSC, MTMC, FISC, DDC, SDDC and other agencies
• Oversee strategic airlift and sealift requirements and provide deployment support so personnel and equipment meet Required Delivery Data
• Enter passenger and cargo requirements into Time Phased Force Deployment Data using DoD automated systems
• Support exercises and theater engagements, including bilateral and unilateral training, and coordinate aircraft support
• Process hazardous materials shipments under international and U.S. regulations
• Handle country clearance, foreign travel authorizations and TT/IATP reviews, and coordinate arrival/departure dates with embassies and attachés
• Manage hazardous waste and recyclables, and develop and maintain deployment reports

Required profile

• U.S. citizen with a valid U.S. passport and a valid U.S. driver's license
• Active Secret security clearance and ability to obtain theater, country clearances, visas and sponsorship documents
• Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in air mobility and transportation management
• Ability to drive government-owned trucks and vans and to operate a PC with standard business software
• Knowledge of installation-level and strategic support logistics programs and systems
