Volunteer Coordinator for Chess Programs

About the role

The Coordinator of Volunteers is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Capital Governorate, Bahrain. This role supports CHESS TEAM FL’s mission by recruiting, onboarding, and scheduling volunteers for chess lessons, events, and school programs.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, onboard, and schedule volunteers to support chess programs and events.
• Organize volunteer training sessions and provide clear role descriptions.
• Maintain volunteer records and communicate regularly with volunteers and staff.
• Coordinate volunteer participation in community outreach initiatives.
• Monitor volunteer performance, recognize contributions, and address concerns promptly.

Required profile

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build positive relationships with volunteers, staff, students, and families.
• Experience in community outreach and coordinating volunteers in educational, youth, or nonprofit settings.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities, able to handle multiple programs and events.
• Comfort working in a multicultural environment and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in education, social sciences, management, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency with basic office software and digital communication tools.
• Experience with volunteer management systems is a plus.
