Water Treatment Plant Operator (MWIS)

About the role

Veolia Water Technologies is hiring a full-time Operator for its MWIS water treatment plant in Bahrain. The role covers operating, monitoring and controlling the water treatment process from intake through distribution, in line with water quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and control all stages of the water treatment process (intake, filtration, chemical dosing, disinfection, distribution) and adjust processes based on pressure, flow, turbidity, pH, conductivity and chlorine residual readings.
• Operate pumps, valves, motors and SCADA systems, and carry out routine inspections and operational rounds.
• Collect and analyse water samples, record results and prepare daily operational reports.
• Perform preventive maintenance, assist in repairs and coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams.
• Safely handle and dose treatment chemicals in compliance with HSE and environmental regulations.
• Report equipment failures or process deviations, take part in safety meetings and drills, and support continuous improvement to reduce energy and chemical consumption.
• Support and train junior operators, ensure clear shift handovers and follow the direct supervisor's instructions.

Required profile

• Diploma degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in the same field.
