About the role
ARRAY is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design and operate data pipelines and lakehouse solutions that power AI-driven applications. You will work on a Kubernetes-native platform integrated with core AWS services, collaborating with a fast-growing team aiming to put Bahrain on the global tech map.
Key responsibilities
- Design data models and semantic layers (medallion bronze/silver/gold) for analytics and AI use cases.
- Build and orchestrate batch and streaming ETL/ELT pipelines using Airflow and dbt.
- Develop and maintain lakehouse architectures with Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake or Hudi on object storage.
- Manage relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) including performance tuning, replication and migrations.
- Implement data governance, role-based access control and data quality monitoring.
- Deploy data workloads on Kubernetes using ArgoCD and Terraform alongside AWS services.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field.
- 5+ years of experience in data or software engineering.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Required skills
- SQL, Python (or Java) programming.
- Airflow, dbt for pipeline orchestration.
- Cloud data warehouses and lakehouse platforms such as Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake.
- Relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) and NoSQL systems.
- Experience with vector and document databases for AI/ML retrieval.
- Docker and Kubernetes for containerized deployments.
- CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Version control with Git.
