Data Protection Officer

About the role

The Data Protection Officer (DPO) will lead Jahez Bahrain’s compliance with the Bahrain Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL). Reporting internally, the DPO will ensure that personal data is processed securely and that the organization meets all regulatory obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a robust data protection framework aligned with PDPL.
• Monitor ongoing compliance with PDPL and related regulations.
• Conduct privacy impact assessments and risk reviews.
• Coordinate with regulatory authorities when required.
• Develop and deliver data protection policies and awareness programs.
• Support risk mitigation to reduce legal, operational, and reputational exposure.
• Collaborate with external vendors and service providers on data privacy matters.
• Assist business continuity and technology initiatives related to data protection.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Information Security, Compliance, or Data Protection.
• Preferred certifications: Certified Data Protection Officer (CDPO), Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), or Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP).
