Electrical Testing & Maintenance Engineer

About the role

VINCI Energies Oil & Gas is looking for an experienced Electrical Testing & Maintenance Engineer to lead the operation, maintenance, testing and inspection of high‑voltage assets in brownfield environments. The role focuses on 220 kV substations, overhead lines and associated protection and control systems, ensuring safety, reliability and asset integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on high‑voltage equipment up to 220 kV, including power transformers, AIS circuit breakers, disconnectors, CTs, VTs and surge arresters.
• Conduct high‑voltage testing such as insulation resistance, polarization index, contact and winding resistance, tan‑delta, SF₆ and breaker timing tests, and interpret results to assess condition and remaining life.
• Maintain and inspect 220 kV AIS substations and supervise the upkeep of overhead transmission lines, towers, insulators and conductors.
• Coordinate shutdowns, earthing, isolation and restoration activities in live operational facilities.
• Maintain and test protection and control systems, including relays, interlocks and SCADA interfaces, and support commissioning or re‑commissioning after upgrades.
• Act as an Authorized Electrical Person, lead risk assessments, method statements and job safety analyses, and ensure compliance with safety rules, permit‑to‑work systems and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Extensive hands‑on experience with 220 kV substations, HV overhead lines and related protection/control equipment.
• Proven ability to work independently as an Authorized Electrical Person and to supervise maintenance and testing teams.
• Strong knowledge of HV safety procedures, risk assessment and permit‑to‑work processes.
• Experience in coordinating shutdowns, isolations and restoration in brownfield installations.
