Facilities Maintenance Technician

About the role

TradesApp is looking for a motivated Facilities Maintenance Technician to manage daily upkeep of its properties. The role involves inspecting buildings for safety issues, performing repairs, and coordinating with contractors to ensure a well‑maintained environment.

Key responsibilities

• Run daily maintenance operations for all property assets.
• Inspect buildings for life‑safety concerns, take corrective action, and report to the line manager.
• Identify, prioritize, and execute maintenance tasks, obtaining manager approval when required.
• Perform skilled maintenance across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, drywall, heating, limited air‑conditioning, and basic mechanical systems.
• Repair electrical switches, outlets, lighting fixtures, and emergency lighting.
• Conduct advanced plumbing work, including installation, repair, and replacement of fixtures and clearing water/sewer line obstructions.
• Carry out carpentry repairs on stairs, handrails, trim, walls, windows, siding, doors, and related components.
• Maintain a clean work area and assist external contractors as needed.
• Prepare preventive‑maintenance reports, recommend actions, and perform corrective work.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a maintenance role, preferably commercial or residential.
• Strong problem‑solving, time‑management, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb and perform demanding tasks.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
