General Ledger & Accounts Payable Specialist

About the role

The General Ledger & Accounts Payable Specialist will ensure the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of the company’s financial records. Working within the financial operations department, the specialist maintains the general ledger, supports accounts payable, and contributes to month‑end close and financial reporting activities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger for the company and its subsidiaries, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and ledger analysis.
• Support month‑end and year‑end close processes, coordinating with cross‑functional teams to deliver timely financial statements.
• Review and finalize journal entries, accruals, and adjustments to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial statements.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with company policies.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors, addressing audit findings and inquiries.
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation to enhance GL and AP efficiency.
• Provide training, coaching, and mentorship to team members on accounting and finance practices.
• Maintain accurate invoice processing, payments, and vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with company policies.

Required profile

• Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and proactive problem‑solving approach.
• Ability to interact effectively with business users and suppliers within the AP function.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; ACCA qualification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting.
