Historian (Remote – Bahrain)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Historian to join our remote team and contribute to the preservation, research, and communication of historical knowledge. You will work with a variety of primary and secondary sources to produce accurate, engaging content for educational and cultural initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive historical research using primary and secondary sources.
• Analyze documents, records, archives, artifacts, and publications.
• Prepare reports, articles, presentations, and summaries based on findings.
• Verify facts, timelines, and contextual information for projects and publications.
• Support the creation of educational materials, exhibitions, and cultural content.
• Organize, document, and maintain research databases and historical records.
• Collaborate with researchers, writers, educators, museums, and other stakeholders.
• Provide expert historical insights and recommendations for organizational initiatives.
• Assist in preserving and interpreting historical collections and archives.
• Monitor developments in historical research and emerging scholarly perspectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in History, Archaeology, Heritage Studies, Humanities, Social Sciences, or a related field.
• 2–5+ years of experience in historical research, archives, museums, academia, or cultural institutions.
• Strong research, analytical, and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Excellent writing, documentation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to evaluate and interpret historical sources accurately.
• High attention to detail and commitment to factual accuracy.
• Experience managing research projects and meeting deadlines.
• Proficiency with research databases, archives, and digital documentation tools.
• Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
