HVAC/EPP Technician – Power Generation & Climate Control

About the role

The HVAC/EPP Technician is responsible for maintaining, modifying, and repairing electrical power‑generating and control systems, automatic transfer switches, and HVAC/refrigeration equipment. The role supports a range of generator and climate‑control systems used in various operational environments.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on generators and HVAC units, adjusting voltage, refrigerant levels, current, frequency, and synchronization as needed.
• Diagnose, repair, and document malfunctions by removing, repairing, or replacing defective components.
• Maintain Cummins generator series (DGDK, DSGAB, DGBB, C15D6, C35D6, 125D6D, MEPP 1050, 1070A, PP‑3106A) and use Cummins InPower software for diagnostics.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide repairs and modifications.
• Operate a full range of electrician hand tools and testing instruments safely and effectively.
• Support generator/HVAC systems listed in multiple technical tables covering power ranges from 15 kW to 250 kW and HVAC configurations from 1‑5 ton split and rooftop units.

Required profile

• Universal 608 HVAC certification.
• High school diploma or GED; formal training in power‑generating equipment (military technical school, vocational college, or four‑year apprenticeship).
• At least four years of hands‑on experience with the equipment to be maintained.
• Minimum six months experience with Cummins Commercial AMMPS and InPower software.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb and perform sustained stooping, bending, kneeling, carrying, and reaching.
