Quantity Surveyor – Construction Cost Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Cost Engineer to lead quantity surveying, estimation, cost control and commercial activities for our ongoing construction projects in Bahrain.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate quantity take‑offs, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost estimates and cost plans.
• Review architectural, structural and MEP drawings and specifications.
• Develop project costing based on material, labour, subcontractor and equipment rates.
• Obtain, evaluate and compare supplier quotations.
• Monitor project budgets, commitments and expenditures, identifying discrepancies and cost‑saving opportunities.
• Conduct site measurements, verify completed quantities and prepare interim valuations, payment applications, variations and final accounts.
• Assist in tender preparation and commercial evaluations.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, subcontractors, suppliers and clients.
• Maintain accurate records of quantities, costs, variations and contracts, and produce regular cost‑control reports for management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• 3–7 years of experience in quantity surveying, cost engineering or commercial construction.
• Strong construction background with Bahrain project experience preferred.
• Proficiency in reading architectural, structural and MEP drawings.
• Good knowledge of local construction materials, labour rates and market pricing.
• Understanding of construction contracts and commercial procedures.
• Must be currently available in Bahrain; immediate joiners preferred.
