Senior Draftsman (2D/3D Engineering)

About the role

The Senior Draftsman will create precise 2‑D and 3‑D engineering drawings and models for multidisciplinary projects. Working closely with engineers, the role ensures that design, fabrication, construction and as‑built documentation meet project specifications, company standards and relevant codes.

Key responsibilities

• Produce detailed 2‑D and 3‑D drawings and models using the latest version of AutoCAD.
• Review project specifications, existing models and technical documents to generate accurate deliverables.
• Conduct site visits, capture measurements, prepare sketches and document field information.
• Collaborate with engineers to develop design solutions and resolve technical issues.
• Create construction, fabrication, and as‑built drawings from sketches, vendor data and site surveys.
• Maintain organized records of all drawing revisions and project documentation.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior draftspersons and lead drafting teams when required.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Projects, Procurement, Planning, Production, QA/QC and Cost Control departments, as well as clients, consultants and contractors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on AutoCAD drafting experience in engineering, industrial, mechanical or construction projects.
• Proven ability to produce construction, fabrication and as‑built drawings.
• Experience supervising or mentoring drafting teams is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of relevant codes, standards and HSE policies.

Required skills

• AutoCAD (latest version) – 2‑D drafting and 3‑D modelling.
• Microsoft Office suite.
• Microsoft Access.
