Software Engineer III – Automation Test

About the role

We are looking for a seasoned Software Engineer III specializing in automation testing to join JPMorgan Chase’s Commercial and Investment Bank payments technology team. In this role you will contribute to the design, development and delivery of secure, high‑quality software solutions that support the firm’s business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot software solutions with a focus on secure, high‑quality production code.
• Create and maintain automation frameworks using Cucumber, Cypress, Selenium and Playwright.
• Customize BDD/Selenium integrations and develop automated test cases and feature files.
• Leverage enterprise‑authorized AI coding‑assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed and productivity.
• Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while ensuring design constraints are met.
• Collaborate with QA, developers and SMEs to understand requirements and system functionality.
• Manage defect lifecycle, including logging, verification, re‑testing and closure.

Required profile

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 6+ years of applied experience.
• Proven experience working in Agile delivery environments and a solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Hands‑on functional testing experience, including test preparation, design, execution and results reporting.
• Experience partnering with manual and automation QA teams, developers and subject‑matter experts.
• Demonstrated ability to design, develop, maintain and report on automated test suites using Cucumber, Cypress, Selenium and Playwright.
• Experience with defect lifecycle management and operational stability concepts.
