Environmental Manager – Sustainability Lead

About the role

The Environmental Manager leads Bapco Energies’ sustainability agenda, ensuring compliance with environmental legislation and driving initiatives that reduce the company’s ecological footprint. This senior position partners with regulators, investors and community stakeholders to embed environmental stewardship across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute environmental strategies, policies and action plans aligned with corporate sustainability goals.
• Set ESG targets, integrate environmental considerations into decision‑making and monitor performance through KPIs.
• Ensure full compliance with local and international environmental regulations, manage permitting, audits and corrective actions.
• Maintain and enhance the Group’s Environmental Management System (ESMS) to ISO 14001 standards.
• Lead waste, water, biodiversity, air‑quality and spill‑prevention programs.
• Track carbon footprint, support decarbonisation initiatives and collaborate with the Emissions Management team.
• Assess new technologies and best practices to improve environmental performance.
• Manage and develop the Environmental Team, fostering a culture of stewardship.
• Prepare accurate environmental performance reports and ESG disclosures for internal and external audiences.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental management, emissions reduction or sustainability programmes.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing environmental programs and leading cross‑functional teams.
• Strong knowledge of regional and international environmental standards and ESG reporting frameworks.
