Associate Factory Manager

About the role

The Associate (Assistant) Factory Manager will lead and expand a large joinery manufacturing operation comprising over 700 workers. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality display cases, bespoke interiors and other joinery products while aligning the plant with European manufacturing standards.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse existing processes, propose mechanisation and drive efficiency improvements across the production cycle.
• Oversee daily shop‑floor activities, monitor workload of all sections (assembly, milling, veneer, polishing, upholstery, etc.) and ensure smooth operations.
• Develop production schedules, allocate work in coordination with floor supervisors and adjust plans as needed.
• Optimize CNC laser and machining operations to maintain consistent quality and productivity.
• Lead new product development, selecting machines, tools, fixtures and inspection methods.
• Raise the plant’s standards in housekeeping, health & safety, product handling and overall organisation to European levels.
• Increase capacity efficiently while improving product quality and manufacturing methods.
• Resolve technical bottlenecks, drive continuous‑improvement initiatives and coordinate with metal, purchasing, stores, logistics and H&S functions.
• Manage staff recruitment, performance, development and training to build a competent workforce.

Required profile

• 10–15 years of experience in a factory‑management role within a large furniture or joinery manufacturing company.
• Proven ability to lead a workforce of 700+ employees with strong man‑management skills.
• Solid technical and execution capability, able to solve complex production problems.
• Deep knowledge of woodworking, joinery construction methods, finishes, timber, veneers and related raw materials.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and capacity‑management concepts.
