Cigar Sommelier

About the role

Raffles Al Areen Palace Bahrain is seeking a passionate Cigar Sommelier to elevate the guest experience in its exclusive cigar lounge. You will curate the cigar list, recommend pairings with wines and spirits, and ensure the lounge reflects the ultra‑luxury standards of the property.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain an up‑to‑date cigar inventory, including vintages and seasonal selections.
• Develop and manage a sustainable cigar program based on guest preferences.
• Create and promote themed cigar nights and special promotions in partnership with suppliers.
• Assist guests with cigar selection, offering pairing suggestions with wines and spirits.
• Train and coach lounge staff on cigar knowledge, upselling techniques, and pairing concepts.
• Collaborate with the food and beverage team to ensure seamless service standards.

Required profile

• Formal sommelier qualification or equivalent hospitality certification.
• Extensive knowledge of premium cigars, vintages, and pairing principles.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication in English, both written and spoken.
• Team‑oriented attitude with a professional, detail‑focused approach.
