Engineering Manager – Aviation Maintenance

About the role

The Engineering Manager will lead the Engineering department responsible for Continued Airworthiness (CAMO), Technical Services, Airline Maintenance, Technical Records and the Technical Library for an airline operating in Bahrain. Reporting to the Technical Director, the role provides technical leadership, manages engineering projects and ensures the fleet remains safe, compliant and operationally efficient.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage aircraft, engine and component maintenance programmes in line with manufacturer and regulatory requirements.
• Manage reliability programmes, including Powerplant Health Monitoring, trend monitoring and corrective recommendations.
• Review and implement FAA Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins and other regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate aircraft induction, redelivery and lease returns, and oversee aircraft modifications and major repairs.
• Work with Planning to develop base maintenance plans, C‑checks and engine/APU shop visits, and secure vendor slots.
• Oversee the Technical Records team, ensuring accurate updates in the TRAX/ERP system and compliance with mandatory technical reports.
• Maintain and control the company’s technical library and manage revisions to company manuals.
• Act as Engineering representative within the Engineering Safety Action Group (ESAG) and take corrective action after quality audits.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead an engineering department and report directly to senior technical management.
• Experience coordinating with Planning, Production, OEMs and external vendors on technical matters.
• Capability to oversee technical records, library management and compliance activities.
• Strong understanding of aviation safety, compliance and quality assurance processes.
