Procurement Officer - Structural Steel

About the role

A part-time Procurement Officer position in Capital Governorate, Bahrain, with a hybrid arrangement combining on-site presence and some work from home. The role manages day-to-day procurement, including sourcing suppliers, requesting and evaluating quotations, and coordinating purchasing for structural steel and related services.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and process purchase orders and monitor delivery schedules so materials and services meet project requirements, budget and quality standards.
• Support contract negotiation and maintain supplier relationships.
• Track inventory levels and collaborate with project, engineering and finance teams.
• Maintain accurate procurement documentation, analyze costs and identify ways to improve purchasing efficiency.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in supply chain management, business, engineering or a related field preferred.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment in Capital Governorate, Bahrain and manage part-time hours reliably.
• Familiarity with engineering, construction or structural steel industry procurement is an advantage.

Required skills

• Knowledge of procurement and purchasing processes, including purchase order preparation, processing, tracking and reconciliation.
• Contract negotiation skills and understanding of commercial terms, pricing and basic legal considerations.
• Analytical skills to evaluate quotations and compare costs.
• Proficiency in MS Office and procurement or ERP systems.
• Strong organization, time management, attention to detail, and effective written and verbal communication.
