Accountant – General Ledger & Treasury

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to ensure the integrity of our general accounts, oversee treasury operations and support internal audit processes. The role reports to the Chief General Accountant and works closely with the accounting team, affiliates and banks.

Key responsibilities

• Control and maintain the integrity of general accounts in line with FCA regulations and standard accounting practices.
• Review cashier activities and perform checks and balances as needed.
• Manage treasury functions, including money transfers, bank charges, remittances, wire transfers and telex payments, and ensure accuracy before submission to senior management.
• Conduct internal audits, verify implementation of control procedures and follow up on corrective actions.
• Perform monthly bank and affiliate reconciliations and resolve any irregularities.
• Maintain a monthly trial balance audit file to confirm accuracy of all balances.
• Handle filing and follow‑up of subsidy applications and refunds.
• Prepare monthly fixed‑asset acquisition reports for approval by the Accounting Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting, finance or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in accounting.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of FCA compliance and standard accounting practices.
• Proficiency in bank reconciliation and treasury transaction processing.
• Experience conducting internal audits and implementing control measures.
• Ability to prepare and verify trial balances and fixed‑asset reports.
