Associate Engineer – Process Simulation (Bahraini National)

About the role

Yokogawa is seeking a Bahrain‑national Associate Engineer to support process simulation and digital engineering activities. The role offers training opportunities and exposure to advanced chemical process fundamentals within a global industrial automation leader.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in various trainings to improve technical skills.
• Develop a strong understanding of chemical process fundamentals and their industrial applications.
• Develop and review process simulation models using tools such as Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, UniSim or Petro‑SIM.
• Perform engineering calculations, data analysis, and troubleshoot process models.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports and presentations.
• Continuously expand knowledge in process simulation, advanced process control, digital engineering and digitalization technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering with a GPA above 3.0/4.0.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Interest in process modelling, simulation, automation and digital engineering.
• Good communication and technical documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Thermodynamics, heat & material balance, fluid mechanics, heat & mass transfer, process dynamics and control.
• Knowledge of PID controllers and control loops.
• Experience with process simulation tools (Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, UniSim, Petro‑SIM or equivalents).
• Programming fundamentals in Python and C/C++.
