Associate Factory Manager

About the role

The Associate Factory Manager will lead a large joinery manufacturing operation of more than 700 workers, overseeing the production of display cases, bespoke interiors and other joinery products. The role focuses on improving efficiency, quality and capacity while aligning the plant with European manufacturing standards.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse existing processes, propose mechanisation and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Oversee the entire production cycle, create and adjust schedules, and allocate work in collaboration with shop‑floor supervisors.
• Monitor workload across assembly, milling, veneer, polishing, upholstery and other joinery sections to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Optimise CNC laser and machining processes for consistent quality and productivity.
• Lead new product development planning, selecting machines, tools, fixtures and inspection methods.
• Raise the plant’s housekeeping, health & safety, product handling and organisational practices to European standards.
• Increase capacity efficiently, improve product quality and refine manufacturing methods.
• Coordinate with metal, purchasing, stores, logistics and H&S functions.
• Manage staff recruitment, performance, development and training to meet business goals.

Required profile

• 10‑15 years of experience in a senior factory‑management role within a large furniture or joinery manufacturing company.
• Strong leadership and man‑management skills capable of directing a workforce of 700+ employees.
• Deep technical knowledge of woodworking, case‑good construction, finishes, timber, veneers and related raw materials.
• Proven ability to solve technical problems, manage capacity and implement Lean manufacturing principles.
