Automotive Service Advisor

About the role

The Automotive Service Advisor assists customers with vehicle servicing and repair needs, acting as the liaison between customers and workshop technicians to ensure a smooth after‑sales experience.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome customers, handle enquiries and inspect vehicles to record service requirements.
• Prepare quotations, job orders and repair estimates, and obtain customer approval.
• Explain recommended repairs, maintenance schedules, costs and timelines clearly.
• Coordinate with workshop technicians to ensure timely, quality repairs and monitor progress.
• Provide regular service status updates, explain invoices, process payments and maintain accurate documentation.
• Promote maintenance packages, genuine spare parts and additional services to meet sales targets.
• Handle complaints, service enquiries and after‑sales concerns professionally.
• Maintain accurate customer records, service histories and warranty documentation while ensuring compliance with safety and manufacturer standards.

Required profile

• High school certificate; diploma in Automotive Technology or related field is an advantage.
• Previous experience in automotive after‑sales service, customer service or workshop operations preferred.
• Good understanding of vehicle maintenance, repair procedures and automotive parts.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities.
• Customer‑focused, professional and able to work in a fast‑paced workshop environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Experience with automotive dealer management systems.
