Bid Manager

About the role

The Bid Manager is responsible for overseeing the estimation and tendering process within a large‑size joinery manufacturing environment. Working closely with the department head, the role ensures that bids are prepared accurately, delivered on time, and aligned with the company’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all estimation‑related activities, including interpreting tender documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Prepare and review bills of quantities, material take‑offs, and cost estimates.
• Lead and supervise the estimating team, planning workload and coordinating post‑tender handovers.
• Maintain and expand the supplier database, pre‑qualifying new vendors.
• Develop and monitor the bid calendar to ensure timely submissions.
• Support cost control initiatives and provide commercial support as needed.
• Coordinate with setting‑out, production, and purchasing departments for seamless project execution.
• Establish and periodically review estimating policies, procedures, and document retention practices.

Required profile

• University degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering or a related field.
• 10–15 years of experience in estimation within large‑scale joinery manufacturing.
• Proven senior leadership experience in the joinery or construction industry.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for client and internal stakeholder interaction.
• Excellent organizational skills with a focus on process adherence and continuous improvement.
