About the role
The Business Development Manager will drive customer acquisition and market expansion for a crypto exchange operating in Bahrain and the wider GCC. You will lead both institutional and retail outreach, build strategic partnerships, and ensure compliance with local regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Identify, pitch to, and onboard institutional clients such as hedge funds, family offices, asset managers, and proprietary trading firms.
- Secure corporate clients for crypto treasury solutions, payment gateways, and OTC trading services.
- Collaborate with marketing to launch retail user acquisition campaigns, referral programs, and affiliate networks.
- Build a pipeline of high‑net‑worth individuals and VIP traders, providing white‑glove onboarding.
- Forge alliances with banks, payment processors, regional blockchain projects, and web3 communities.
- Gather customer feedback to influence product roadmap and ensure compliance with the Central Bank of Bahrain’s Crypto‑Asset Module and AML/KYC rules.
- Track KPIs, conversion rates, and pipeline health using CRM tools such as Salesforce or HubSpot.
Required profile
- 8+ years of proven success in business development, B2B sales, or partnerships.
- At least 1‑2 years of experience in cryptocurrency, blockchain, or fintech.
- Existing network of institutional players, family offices, or HNWIs in Bahrain/GCC.
- Deep understanding of digital assets, spot/margin trading, OTC desks, APIs, and the Web3 ecosystem.
- Familiarity with Bahrain’s financial regulatory landscape (CBB) and MENA region regulations.
