Business Development Manager

About the role

TransferMate is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to establish and grow its commercial presence in Bahrain and the wider GCC region. Reporting to the APAC leadership team, you will drive new‑market entry, generate revenue, and build strategic partnerships to position TransferMate as a leading payments provider.

Key responsibilities

• Own new‑business acquisition across Bahrain and GCC, targeting corporates, fintechs, and strategic partners.
• Design and execute a local go‑to‑market strategy aligned with APAC objectives.
• Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to deal closure.
• Develop and nurture partnerships with banks, fintech firms, ERP platforms, and payroll providers.
• Create and maintain a high‑quality pipeline for short‑ and long‑term sales cycles.
• Achieve ambitious revenue targets in a build‑phase environment.
• Collaborate with product, compliance, and marketing teams.
• Provide market intelligence to shape the GCC expansion strategy.
• Act as the Principal Representative approved by the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) and oversee the Bahrain representative office.

Required profile

• 5–8+ years of business development or sales experience in fintech, payments, FX, or SaaS.
• Proven record of closing new business and exceeding revenue targets.
• Experience building or scaling a new market, region, or territory.
• Strong partnership development and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
• Ability to work independently in a high‑growth, fast‑moving environment.
• Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
