Category Assistant / Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Category Assistant / Specialist to support the full lifecycle of category management for construction projects. The role is fully remote and reports to the procurement leadership team, working closely with project and commercial stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement category management procedures, standards, and governance frameworks aligned with project objectives.
• Support category activities from setup and classification through sourcing, procurement, supplier coordination, performance monitoring, and final reconciliation.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, quantity surveyors, commercial teams, legal, finance, design consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
• Review, coordinate, and maintain supplier agreements, purchase orders, product and service information, pricing schedules, specifications, and related commercial documents.
• Establish and maintain administration procedures for product/service classification, supplier records, sourcing activities, approvals, pricing, and performance monitoring.
• Monitor supplier and contractor compliance with specifications, pricing, delivery schedules, quality, warranties, and other commercial requirements.
• Assist in managing supplier performance issues, price changes, supply constraints, substitutions, shortages, quality concerns, and delivery delays.
• Analyze category spend, pricing trends, demand, inventory levels, and cost data to support cost control and optimization.

Required profile

• Mid‑level to senior experience in category management, procurement, or supply chain within the construction industry.
• Strong administrative, analytical, and operational skills.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and external partners.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple categories simultaneously.
