Compliance Officer & Money Laundering Reporting Officer

About the role

Fasset is seeking a Compliance Officer & MLRO to join its Bahrain team. You will be responsible for shaping and continuously improving the company’s KYC, onboarding, sanctions, and AML/CFT frameworks while working closely with the global compliance network.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and update AML/CTF policies, procedures and internal controls in line with Bahrain regulations.
• Provide training and guidance to staff on AML/CTF risks, policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular risk assessments of AML/CTF and ABC compliance programmes, including CDD and EDD processes.
• Monitor, investigate and report suspicious transactions to relevant authorities.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies, respond to inquiries and manage examinations or audits.
• Identify and mitigate money‑laundering, terrorist‑financing, fraud, conflict‑of‑interest, anti‑bribery and corruption risks across business units.
• Review and enhance the transaction monitoring programme to detect unusual activity.
• Advise management on compliance matters specific to Bahrain and the wider group.
• Manage relationships with external service providers supporting AML/CTF compliance.
• Develop and implement a fraud detection and prevention strategy, including tools, monitoring and investigations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in AML/CTF compliance and regulatory reporting.
• Strong knowledge of Bahrain’s AML, CTF and anti‑bribery legislation.
• Ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and produce actionable recommendations.
• Experience interacting with regulators and handling audits.
• Excellent analytical and investigative skills.
