Compliance Officer & Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO)

About the role

Fasset is seeking a Compliance Officer & MLRO based in Bahrain to shape and continuously improve its KYC, onboarding, sanctions and AML/CFT policies and processes. You will work closely with the global compliance team across Dubai, Indonesia and Turkey, playing a key role in AML risk assessment and control functions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain AML/CTF policies, procedures, and internal controls in line with applicable laws and regulations.
• Assist the Head of Compliance in delivering training and guidance on AML/CTF risks, policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular risk assessments of the company’s AML/CTF and ABC compliance program, including CDD and EDD processes.
• Monitor and investigate suspicious transactions, ensuring timely reporting to relevant authorities.
• Liaise with Bahrain regulatory bodies, respond to inquiries and manage examinations or audits.
• Identify and mitigate money‑laundering, terrorist‑financing, fraud, conflict‑of‑interest, anti‑bribery and corruption risks across business units.
• Review and enhance the transaction monitoring programme to detect unusual activity patterns.
• Provide compliance advice to management and the wider group on Bahrain‑specific matters.
• Manage relationships with external service providers supporting AML/CTF and ABC compliance.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive fraud detection and prevention strategy, including monitoring, investigation and reporting of suspected fraud.

Required profile

• Must hold ICA and CAMS qualifications.
• Experience in data‑protection compliance or a related field.
• Prior experience working in a crypto‑focused company.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to inspire cross‑culture teams.
• In‑depth knowledge of software development methodologies, tools and best practices.
