Credit Risk Analyst

About the role

The Islamic Bank in Bahrain seeks a Credit Risk Analyst to evaluate corporate credit applications for new and existing facilities. You will conduct in‑depth financial and credit risk analysis, prepare comprehensive risk reports, and provide independent recommendations to senior management and credit committees.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and analyse credit applications for corporate borrowers, both new and existing.
• Perform detailed financial analysis, reviewing performance, business profile, industry dynamics and repayment capacity.
• Prepare Risk Authorization Reports (RARs) and supporting credit analysis in line with internal policies.
• Formulate independent risk assessments, highlighting key risks, mitigants and proposed credit structures.
• Review credit proposals from Corporate Banking for compliance with policies, procedures and risk appetite.
• Liaise with Corporate Banking and Risk Management teams to gather information and ensure timely processing.
• Support the preparation of committee submissions, approval memoranda and related documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in credit risk, corporate banking, credit analysis or financial analysis.
• Experience in banking or financial services is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Sound knowledge of corporate banking products, credit policies, procedures and banking operations.
