Customer Service Coordinator

About the role

A Customer Service Coordinator is needed for the Customer Service team in Manama, Bahrain. The role reports to the Customer Solutions Specialist and ensures that correct release documents are issued to customers against collection revenues, while handling export and import-related inquiries.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and oversee tasks related to Bahrain, completing them within set guidelines
• Handle MTD printing and release, ensuring payment collection of export shipments
• Issue certificates and export documents
• Respond to customer queries by phone and email within set timelines, giving clear information on bookings, documents and vessels
• Promote web tools to customers and handle shipment exceptions, delegating with GCC/QSC teams as needed
• Identify and eliminate exceptions in the documentation process and follow up on uncollected bills of lading and outstanding payments
• Complete additional work assigned by the supervising desk

Required profile

• 1-2 years of industry experience in the shipping sector
• Degree in shipping, logistics or a related field
• Good knowledge of import and export documentation procedures
• Familiarity with shipping operations and the ability to make decisions
• Sharp analytical and statistical skills, attention to detail and efficient problem solving
• Customer service orientation, ability to take initiative and work under pressure
• Clear written and verbal communication and delegation skills

Required skills

• Good knowledge of user application systems such as SAP, FIS, MS Office, Word and Excel
• Understanding of data quality, accuracy and benchmarking
• Ability to process data and requests promptly under pressure
