Director of Design & Projects Delivery

About the role

The Director of Design & Projects Delivery will lead the end‑to‑end delivery of store openings, refurbishments and infrastructure projects across the region. Reporting to senior leadership, this role shapes strategy, ensures compliance and drives performance across multi‑site retail expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Define project delivery strategy, capital budgeting and program prioritisation in partnership with Finance, Brand Heads and Maintenance.
• Establish governance frameworks, SOPs and risk‑mitigation processes to ensure regulatory compliance and project control.
• Oversee the full project lifecycle from concept, design approval, construction, handover to post‑opening evaluation, monitoring cost, quality, safety and schedule KPIs.
• Manage relationships with contractors, consultants, architects and design teams, validating design intent, BOQs, space planning and material specifications.
• Lead a multi‑disciplinary team of managers, engineers, planners and consultants, fostering coordination and continuous improvement.
• Act as the primary interface with global brand principals and provide regular updates to C‑level leadership on pipeline, risks and priorities.

Required profile

• 12‑15 years of project management experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role overseeing multi‑site retail or hospitality expansions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture; Master’s in Project Management or MBA preferred.
• Proven track record delivering large‑scale CAPEX programmes across geographies.
• Relevant certifications such as PMP, LEED or similar are an advantage.
