Director of Marketing Communications

About the role

The Director of Marketing Communications will lead all communication initiatives for a prestigious hotel, focusing on public relations and brand image. This senior role reports to the Director of Marketing and works closely with corporate and regional teams to enhance the hotel's reputation and drive revenue.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an annual communications plan aligned with the hotel’s marketing strategy, including budgets and performance metrics.
• Prepare detailed work plans, brief the communications team, and monitor progress against goals, taking corrective action as needed.
• Oversee mailing activities, maintain the corporate identity manual, and produce monthly communications reports.
• Supervise photography, manage the master slide/photo library, and coordinate with advertising agencies and corporate marketing.
• Lead the in‑house art department and monitor competitor activities and industry trends.
• Act as the official spokesperson, respond to media inquiries within 24 hours, and maintain a comprehensive media contact database.
• Draft press releases for local, regional, and international media, and collaborate with corporate press offices on story development.
• Manage community, government, and VIP relations, secure event opportunities, and develop strategic partner relationships.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 4 years of experience in sales, marketing, guest services, or a related field, OR
• Associate degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel & Restaurant Management, or a related discipline with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
