Director of Marketing Communications

About the role

The Director of Marketing Communications leads all communication activities for a prestigious hotel, focusing on public relations and brand image to drive revenue. This senior position reports to the Director of Marketing and works closely with corporate and regional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an annual communications plan aligned with the hotel’s marketing strategy, including budgets and performance tracking.
• Prepare monthly communications reports and oversee mailing activities, ensuring brand guidelines are consistently applied.
• Supervise photography, art‑department operations, and maintain a master library of visual assets for advertising and PR.
• Monitor competitor activities and industry trends to keep the hotel’s messaging competitive.
• Act as the official spokesperson, respond to media inquiries within 24 hours, and manage a comprehensive media contact database.
• Draft press releases, coordinate with corporate and international press offices, and cultivate relationships with community, government, and VIP stakeholders.
• Organise and attend hotel‑sponsored events, developing strategic partner relationships.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 4 years of experience in sales, marketing, guest services, or related fields, OR a 2‑year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel & Restaurant Management (or similar) with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
