Draftsman – Civil Engineering

About the role

The Draftsman will create accurate engineering drawings and technical documentation for civil infrastructure and construction projects in Bahrain. Working closely with project teams, the role ensures that all design outputs meet project specifications, standards, and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and update civil engineering drawings using AutoCAD and other drafting software.
• Produce general drafting and presentation drawings, including coloured drawings and photo overlays.
• Design road alignments, grading plans, intersections, earthworks, and related infrastructure layouts.
• Develop drawings for subdivisions, roads, parking areas, and other civil works.
• Assist project teams with minor civil design and drafting tasks.
• Conduct site visits and field surveys to verify dimensions and update as‑built drawings.
• Take measurements, amend existing drawings, and create new drawings reflecting actual site conditions.
• Prepare traffic management and diversion drawings in coordination with engineers.
• Perform quantity take‑offs and measurements to support BOQ preparation, quotations, and variation claims.
• Maintain drawing registers, revisions, and project documentation.

Required profile

• Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Civil Draftsman in the construction or engineering industry.
• Experience with infrastructure, roadworks, and civil engineering projects is preferred.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, road design, and construction practices.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other drafting software.
• Technical drafting and detailing skills for civil projects.
• Ability to conduct site surveys and produce as‑built drawings.
• Knowledge of quantity take‑offs and BOQ preparation.
