Environmental Health and Safety Officer

About the role

We are looking for a passionate and dynamic Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Officer to join our team at Downtown Rotana & Majestic Arjaan by Rotana. You will ensure compliance with food safety, occupational health, and environmental regulations while delivering exceptional service to guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Establish, implement and maintain EHS and food safety management systems in line with HACCP, ISO standards and local regulations.
• Prepare regular reports for top management and recommend improvements.
• Lead and participate in audits (EHS, HACCP, ISO, sustainability, OHSMS) and manage corrective actions.
• Investigate incidents, document root causes and drive preventive measures.
• Monitor regulatory changes and update internal procedures, policies and forms.
• Conduct training for all employees on EHS and food safety policies.
• Perform regular workplace inspections and enforce corrective actions.
• Ensure suppliers and contractors comply with EHS and food safety standards.
• Manage all EHS documentation and support corporate social responsibility initiatives, including Rotana Earth programs.

Required profile

• Proven experience in EHS, food safety, HACCP and ISO compliance within the hospitality industry.
• Strong audit and incident‑investigation skills.
• Ability to communicate findings, develop action plans and train staff.
• Detail‑oriented with a commitment to continuous improvement and sustainability.
