Field Operator I

About the role

The Field Operator I supports safe and efficient plant operations to meet production targets. Working under supervision, the operator monitors equipment, follows operational procedures, and ensures compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in operating and monitoring process equipment while adhering to safety standards.
• Record operational parameters, report abnormalities, and support system start‑ups and shutdowns.
• Perform mechanical and instrumentation tasks as directed.
• Pressurize and depressurize equipment and pipelines, checking gauges for pressure, temperature, and level.
• Follow O&M instructions and CRO/Supervisor directives to maintain stable plant operations.
• Troubleshoot and restart compressors after unexpected shutdowns.
• Participate in training, operational reviews, and basic maintenance checks.
• Prepare equipment for maintenance, including isolation, draining, and decontamination.
• Hand over accurate shift information and report unsafe conditions.
• Handle chemicals, lubricants, and coolants safely and collect samples as required.

Required profile

• Technical degree in Industrial Processes, Chemical, Petroleum or equivalent.
• 0‑2 years of experience in a similar Oil & Gas role.
• Familiarity with plant equipment, processes, and operational documentation.
• Motivated team player able to work in a multicultural environment.

Required skills

• Operation and monitoring of plant equipment.
• Troubleshooting and problem‑solving.
• Interpretation of PFDs, P&IDs, drawings, cause‑and‑effect matrices, and fire‑gas detection systems.
• Basic knowledge of Maintenance Management Systems (work orders, preventive/corrective/predictive maintenance).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Good command of written and spoken English (Arabic is an asset).
