Field Operator I

About the role

We are looking for a Field Operator I to support safe and efficient plant operations, helping achieve production targets. The role involves routine operational tasks under supervision, ensuring compliance with safety and procedural standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in operating and monitoring process equipment, ensuring safety compliance.
• Record equipment parameters and report abnormalities to supervisors or CRO.
• Support system start‑ups and shutdowns as directed.
• Perform mechanical and instrumentation tasks, including pressurizing and depressurizing equipment and pipelines.
• Monitor pressure, temperature, level gauges and report irregularities.
• Follow established O&M instructions and supervisor guidance to maintain stable plant operations.
• Troubleshoot and restart compressors after unexpected shutdowns.
• Participate in training, operational procedure reviews and provide feedback.
• Conduct basic operational and maintenance checks (daily, weekly, monthly) under supervision.
• Prepare equipment for maintenance, including isolation, draining and decontamination.
• Hand over accurate information to the next shift and report unsafe conditions.
• Handle chemicals, lubricants and coolants safely and collect samples as required.
• Maintain housekeeping standards and comply with Emergency Response Team duties.
• Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors or managers.

Required profile

• Technical degree in Industrial Processes, Chemical, Petroleum or equivalent.
• 0‑2 years of experience in a similar role within the oil & gas sector.
• Familiarity with plant equipment, processes and ongoing activities.
• Good command of English (written and spoken); Arabic is an asset.
• Motivated team player able to work in a diverse cultural environment.

Required skills

• Interpretation of Plant PFDs, P&IDs, drawings and Cause & Effect matrices.
• Understanding of fire‑and‑gas detection system philosophy.
• Basic knowledge of Maintenance Management Systems (work orders, preventive/corrective/predictive maintenance).
• General troubleshooting and problem‑solving.
• Computer proficiency, especially Microsoft Office suite.
