Field Operator I

About the role

The Field Operator I supports safe and efficient plant operations to meet production targets. Working under supervision, the operator performs routine tasks, monitors equipment, and ensures compliance with safety and procedural standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in operating and monitoring process equipment while adhering to safety standards.
• Record operational parameters, report abnormalities to supervisors or the CRO.
• Support system start‑ups, shutdowns, pressurising and depressurising of equipment and pipelines.
• Perform basic mechanical and instrument tasks as directed.
• Conduct regular checks of pressure, temperature, level gauges and report irregularities.
• Follow O&M instructions and CRO directives to maintain stable plant operations.
• Troubleshoot compressor restarts after unexpected shutdowns.
• Participate in training, operational reviews and provide basic feedback.
• Assist with equipment preparation for maintenance, including isolation and decontamination.
• Hand over accurate shift information and report unsafe conditions.
• Handle chemicals, lubricants and coolants safely, collect samples as required.
• Maintain housekeeping standards and comply with Emergency Response Team duties.

Required profile

• Technical degree in Industrial Processes, Chemical, Petroleum or equivalent.
• 0‑2 years of experience in a similar oil & gas role.
• Familiarity with plant equipment, processes, PFDs, P&IDs, cause‑and‑effect matrices and fire‑gas detection philosophy.
• Basic understanding of Maintenance Management Systems (work orders, preventive/corrective/predictive maintenance).
• Good command of English (written and spoken); Arabic is a plus.
