Field Operator I – Oil & Gas Plant

About the role

The Field Operator I supports safe and efficient plant operations to meet production targets. Working under supervision, you will monitor equipment, follow operational procedures, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in operating and monitoring process equipment, reporting any abnormalities.
• Support system start‑ups, shutdowns, and pressurization/de‑pressurization tasks.
• Perform routine checks of pressure, temperature, level gauges and report irregularities.
• Help with mechanical and instrument jobs, equipment isolation, draining and de‑contamination.
• Participate in troubleshooting, especially compressor restarts after unexpected shutdowns.
• Maintain accurate handover information for the next shift and report unsafe conditions.
• Handle chemicals, lubricants and coolants safely and collect samples as directed.
• Follow Emergency Response Team (ERT) duties and all company policies.

Required profile

• Technical degree in Industrial Processes, Chemical, Petroleum or equivalent.
• 0‑2 years of experience in a similar oil & gas role.
• Familiarity with plant equipment, PFDs, P&IDs, cause‑and‑effect matrices and fire‑gas detection philosophy.
• Basic understanding of maintenance management systems (work orders, preventive/corrective/predictive maintenance).
• Good command of English (written and spoken); Arabic is a plus.
• Motivated team player able to work in a diverse cultural environment.
