Field Operator I – Plant Operations

About the role

The Field Operator I supports safe and efficient plant operations to meet production targets. Working under supervision, you will perform routine operational tasks, monitor equipment, and ensure compliance with safety and procedural standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in operating and monitoring process equipment, ensuring safety compliance.
• Record operational parameters and report abnormalities to supervisors or CRO.
• Support system start‑ups, shutdowns, and mechanical/instrumentation jobs as directed.
• Pressurize and depressurize equipment and pipelines when required.
• Check pressure, temperature, level gauges and report irregularities.
• Follow O&M instructions and CRO directives to maintain stable plant operations.
• Troubleshoot and restart compressors after unexpected shutdowns.
• Conduct daily, weekly and monthly operational and maintenance checks.
• Prepare equipment for maintenance (isolation, draining, decontamination).
• Hand over accurate information to the next shift and report unsafe conditions.
• Handle chemicals, lubricants and coolants safely and maintain housekeeping standards.
• Participate in Emergency Response Team duties and comply with all company policies.

Required profile

• Technical degree in Industrial Processes, Chemical, Petroleum or equivalent.
• 0‑2 years experience in a similar Oil & Gas role.
• Familiarity with plant equipment, processes and basic troubleshooting.
• Understanding of PFDs, P&IDs, cause‑and‑effect matrices and fire‑gas detection philosophy.
• Basic knowledge of Maintenance Management Systems (work orders, preventive/corrective/predictive maintenance).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Good written and spoken English; Arabic is an asset.
• Motivated team player able to work in a diverse cultural environment.
