Field Service Technician - Rotating Equipment

About the role

Sulzer is looking for a Field Service Technician to join its industrial services team, which supports the repair, overhaul and maintenance of rotating equipment such as pumps, motors and turbines. The role is hands-on, combining workshop and site work, and offers exposure to customer-facing field service projects across the region. It suits mechanical or electrical technicians with strong troubleshooting skills.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, overhaul and rebuild rotating equipment.
• Perform field service activities at customer sites and in the workshop.
• Carry out equipment alignment, balancing and troubleshooting.
• Interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Liaise directly with customers and prepare service reports.
• Supervise subcontractors when required.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards.

Required profile

• Trade qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or a related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of experience working with rotating equipment.
• Previous field service experience in industrial environments.
• Ideal background in Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Petrochemical, Water, Utilities, Industrial Manufacturing or Heavy Engineering.
• Willingness to travel more than 50% of the time.

Required skills

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with pumps, motors, compressors, turbines or similar equipment.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Fluent English.
