Finance Associate – Fintech Operations

About the role

Bede, the fintech arm of Zain Bahrain, is seeking a Finance Associate to support daily financial operations and ensure compliance with IFRS, Shariah standards and Central Bank of Bahrain regulations. The role works closely with internal teams, external vendors, auditors and banking partners in a fast‑moving startup environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records in the ERP system and perform day‑to‑day finance tasks such as accounts payable, receivable, bank reconciliations, journal entries and general ledger updates.
• Verify supplier invoices, track payments and resolve discrepancies while ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
• Execute month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing activities, prepare schedules for pre‑payments, accruals and payables.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual budgets, forecasts and variance analyses.
• Prepare financial presentations for management and board meetings and support ad‑hoc analysis.
• Provide documentation and explanations to internal and external auditors.
• Contribute to the improvement of finance processes, internal controls and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Experience in finance operations within a corporate or fintech setting.
• Familiarity with IFRS, Shariah‑compliant finance standards and Central Bank of Bahrain regulatory requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with an ERP accounting system.
• Financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Month‑end and year‑end closing procedures.
• Knowledge of IFRS and Shariah finance standards.
