Fitter – Heavy Vehicle Maintenance Technician

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Fitter to join our maintenance team responsible for the upkeep of Bapco Air Fueling’s fleet of heavy vehicles and related mechanical systems. You will ensure that dispensers, fuelers, pickups, vans and specialised fuel sampling units remain operational and safe.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy vehicles, including dispensers, fuelers, pickups and fuel sampling units.
• Inspect, service and repair quick‑release valves (QRVs), air compressors and hydrant line components.
• Carry out daily checks on vehicles and equipment to confirm operational readiness.
• Assist with general mechanical repairs and minor fixes under technician supervision.
• Support the Maintenance Supervisor with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks.
• Ensure all work complies with safety and operational standards.

Required profile

• Technical Secondary School diploma or equivalent.
• 2–5 years hands‑on experience with mechanical and electrical systems of diesel‑powered heavy vehicles.
• Experience in a fuel‑handling or aviation support environment is preferred.
• Basic English reading and writing skills for technical documentation.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions.
