Audio & Lighting Systems Commissioning Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Commissioning Engineer to program, calibrate and tune both audio and lighting systems from design review through to final handover on projects in Bahrain and abroad.

Key responsibilities

• Program, configure and commission DSP and amplifier platforms such as Q‑SYS, Biamp, BSS, Extron, Bose, Symetrix, Yamaha and others.
• Patch, address and commission performance lighting fixtures from manufacturers like Robe, Martin, Chauvet, Clay Paky and program consoles such as Avolites, grandMA, ETC and ChamSys.
• Design and set up control networks using DMX512, RDM, Art‑Net and sACN, including splitters, nodes and termination.
• Run site acceptance tests, produce commissioning reports, settings backups and as‑built documentation, and train client operators.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience commissioning Pro‑AV audio and/or performance lighting systems.
• Strong understanding of acoustics, signal flow, gain structure and loudspeaker optimisation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English and ability to work with clients, consultants and architects.
• Willingness to travel internationally and work flexible hours when projects require.

Required skills

• DSP platforms: Q‑SYS, Biamp, BSS, Extron, Bose, Symetrix, Yamaha, Shure, L‑Acoustics, K‑array, d&b, Meyer Sound, Powersoft, Lab.gruppen.
• Acoustic measurement tools: Smaart, REW or similar.
• DMX512, RDM, Art‑Net, sACN protocols and lighting consoles: Avolites, grandMA, ETC, ChamSys, Hog.
• Networking: IP addressing, VLANs, multicast, managed switches, QoS.
