Forward-Deployed Engineer (Senior)

About the role

A highly accomplished, deeply technical Senior Forward Deployment Engineer is sought to act as the dedicated technical engine and trusted advisor for a strategic enterprise client. The role sits on the front lines: owning the technical relationship end-to-end, architecting complex proofs of concept, building hands-on demos and solving architecture and integration challenges in real time. It suits someone who uses AI to guide their work and is open to stepping beyond traditional boundaries toward building agents, product ownership and requirements analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Dedicated technical advisory: act as the primary, high-touch technical authority for a key enterprise customer.
• Account expansion: proactively identify technical gaps and new opportunities, partner with presales to build future architectures and pitch new solutions.
• Rapid prototyping: scope, design and build custom demos, production-grade prototypes and PoCs tailored to the customer's ecosystem.
• Architecture and integration: work with the customer's engineering, security and infrastructure teams on deployment pipelines, custom integrations and data flows, with a focus on Google Cloud Platform.
• Real-time problem solving: debug deployment, infrastructure, integration and performance issues on the fly.
• Product feedback loop: bridge customer engineering requirements with internal Product and Core Engineering teams.

Required profile

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, backend systems, cloud architecture or site reliability engineering.
• Ability to switch between coding with senior developers and presenting to CTOs and VP-level stakeholders.
• High autonomy, grit and a strong sense of ownership.
• Nice to have: experience in AI/ML infrastructure, distributed systems, high-throughput data processing or cybersecurity; prior forward-deployment, technical pre-sales or high-touch account management; knowledge of financial services, payments or FinTech.
