AI Specialist

About the role

The AI Specialist supports the identification, evaluation and implementation of practical AI solutions across the business. Working with business teams, IT and external partners, the role explores AI opportunities, assesses available tools and models, supports pilot initiatives and promotes the responsible use of AI. Coding knowledge is useful for prototyping but is not the main focus.

Key responsibilities

• Research and recommend practical AI solutions that improve productivity, quality, efficiency or decision-making, and turn business challenges into clear AI use cases.
• Support the development, testing and evaluation of small AI pilots and proofs of concept, comparing solutions on usability, accuracy, security, integration, cost and business value.
• Help configure and implement approved AI solutions, and prepare documentation, user guides, presentations and progress updates.
• Support AI awareness sessions, demonstrations and knowledge sharing, and encourage adoption of approved tools.
• Help departments identify AI opportunities, evaluate and prioritise use cases, gather user feedback and explain AI capabilities and limitations in simple business language.
• Coordinate AI initiatives and pilots: track activities, timelines, risks and deliverables, define success measures, document lessons learned and recommendations.
• Maintain documentation, follow security, privacy and data protection requirements, and continuously research and share new AI capabilities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, artificial intelligence, data science, software engineering or a related field.
• Approximately three years of relevant experience in technology, AI, automation, software or digital solutions; experience supporting pilots or cross-functional projects is preferred.
• Strong interest in AI, good analytical, problem-solving and experimentation skills, and good communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work with both technical and non-technical teams.

Required skills

• Good understanding of modern AI tools, models and agents; familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot Studio, Power Platform or similar.
• Preferred: basic knowledge of Python, SQL, APIs, JavaScript, C# or another language, and ability to test and make minor code changes.
• Preferred: understanding of large language models, prompting, AI agents, automation, data sources and system integration; experience building simple prototypes or automations.
• Preferred: exposure to Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms, and experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch.
