General Mechanic – Maintenance & Repairs

About the role

The General Mechanic is responsible for responding to guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring all building systems operate safely and efficiently. This full‑time position works on‑site at a hotel facility in Manama, Bahrain.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests and communicate resolutions.
• Carry out preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical‑room assets, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair air‑conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic, and carpentry systems.
• Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs, and replace light bulbs and HVAC filters.
• Use lockout/tagout procedures before any maintenance work.
• Maintain inventory, requisition parts, and document daily activities for shift hand‑over.
• Repair interior and exterior landscaping, including sprinkler systems.
• Program televisions and handle basic housekeeping‑related inventory duties.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hospitality environment.
• Physical capability to lift and move objects up to 50 lb and perform heavier tasks with assistance.
• Clear communication skills and professional appearance.
• Commitment to safety policies, reporting hazards, and completing required training.
