Government Affairs Manager – Bahrain

About the role

We are looking for a Government Affairs Manager based in Bahrain to lead the groundwork for new market entries across the GCC, secure multi‑category operating licences, and ensure smooth import compliance for our e‑commerce and retail operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead government affairs activities for urgent new country launches, including entity setup and regulatory approvals.
• Establish and nurture relationships with local government bodies and regulatory agencies from scratch.
• Secure multiple category operating licences and manage private‑label product registration.
• Navigate certification requirements for imported goods across GCC markets.
• Resolve cross‑border import challenges for products sourced from China, Europe, India and other regions.
• Handle product certifications, import permits and customs regulatory issues to ensure uninterrupted product flow.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in government affairs, regulatory or public policy roles in Bahrain.
• Deep understanding of Bahrain’s regulatory landscape and proven track record of obtaining licences and permits.
• Strong network within Bahrain government bodies and regulatory agencies.
• Experience in e‑commerce, retail or logistics sectors is preferred.
• Fluent in Arabic and English.
• Born and raised in Bahrain, willing to travel across Saudi Arabia and the GCC.
