Health & Safety Officer

About the role

The Health & Safety Officer will evaluate work environments, develop and implement occupational health and safety programs, and ensure compliance with Bahrain legislation. This role supports the Production & Support division and works closely with management and external authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain OHS policies, procedures, manuals and quality documentation.
• Identify hazards, conduct risk assessments and implement preventive measures.
• Manage the Health & Safety team, provide training and promote a safety culture.
• Liaise with government ministries and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.
• Investigate incidents, determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain emergency response plans, audit local OHS compliance and manage hazardous waste procedures.
• Ensure proper installation of equipment and machinery and monitor workplace ergonomics.

Required profile

• Bahraini nationals with ≥3 years HSE experience or expatriates with ≥6 years relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of Bahrain HSE laws, reporting requirements and liaison processes.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
• NEBOSH Diploma or comparable health‑and‑safety certification.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and training abilities.
• Positive attitude, integrity and a strong sense of responsibility.
