Health & Safety Officer – Occupational Safety Lead

About the role

The Health & Safety Officer will lead the development and implementation of occupational health and safety programs across our Bahrain operations. You will evaluate work environments, identify hazards, and create procedures that protect employees from chemical, physical and ergonomic risks.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain HSE policies, procedures, manuals and quality documentation.
• Inspect equipment, machinery and work areas to identify hazards and recommend preventive measures.
• Lead the HSE team, conduct training and promote a safety‑first culture.
• Liaise with Bahrain authorities to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation.
• Investigate incidents, determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain emergency response plans, conduct audits and manage hazardous waste procedures.
• Prepare and submit regular reports on HSE performance to senior management.

Required profile

• Bahraini nationals with at least 3 years of HSE experience, or expatriates with 6 years or more.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
• NEBOSH Diploma or comparable Health & Safety Management certification.
• Strong knowledge of Bahrain HSE laws, reporting requirements and liaison with government bodies.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and multitasking abilities.

Required skills

• NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent).
• Proficiency with computer applications for HSE reporting.
• In‑depth understanding of Bahrain occupational health and safety regulations.
